Happy child in her new coat.

A new coat gives a child confidence to play, learn and do more.

With local temperatures dipping below freezing on average of 71 days each year, our kids need warm winter coats. In partnership with Operation Warm and other organizations, we distribute over 3,000 coats to kids in need each winter. These Made in America coats not only bring warmth and joy to impoverished children but they also create new American jobs.

Firefighters and Operation Warm

In 2011, Firefighters and Friends joined forces with Operation Warm, a national non-profit organization that brings happiness and warmth to over 1.4 million children in need. Deputy Chief Bailey readily facilitated a partnership between Operation Warm and the International Association of Fire Fighters. In 2012, IAFF resolved to support Operation Warm positioning them as the heroes on the frontlines of Operation Warm’s mission. Since then firefighters across the country have helped expand coat distribution while supporting American manufacturing jobs. We are happy to align with this initiative to ensure that local kids in need are served.
